Oil Painting Technique, Art Lesson

Namaste! I'm an Artist who Loves working with Oils! I'm always looking for new techniques and tips or tricks to stretch the medium. If you're sketching with your brush, blocking in a base coat, or creating a Plein Painting try this...

Before applying Paint cover your canvas with a coat of Artist Oil for Oil Paints first. There are several different types on the market for you to choose from. Then go on an Art Adventure and explore this technique. Have Fun!

Spring notes from the Sketch Pad

Namaste! Springtime is here at last! The length of daylight is ever increasing and my perennial plants are coming out of their dormant stage. The Song Birds are back serenading us with their beautiful chirps which is music to my ears. What an exciting time of year!  Inspiration for my Art is flowing like a river from every cell in my body and spilling out onto my sketch pad.

Lots of New Art to share with you...coming soon! Stay Tuned   :)

Pennsylvania Artist, Cat Artist, Bird Artist

My Newest Cat Art. Watercolor Still Life painting of a Woman and her Pet Cat. Anyone who has ever let a Cat take over their home knows how much a Cat brings to it. This Lady is obviously the Loyal Subject of her purring companion.
I'm a Pennsylvania Artist who loves to depict People with their Pets, as well as depicting People interacting with Wildlife. Perhaps it is the wild side of our pets that is appealing to us. By bonding with them we bond with Nature. Having a close encounter with Nature uplifts us Spiritually. I hope to capture that feeling in my Art.

Quilts and Quilting part 1

Art Quilts have been a favorite medium of mine for a long time. Lately I've been experimenting with using different mediums and techniques. Nature scenes have been painted and hand embroidered on to my quilts. Found objects have been making their way into my quilts. Everything from paper clips to garment tags. It must be the Victorian Crazy Quilt influence.

The image above has found its way on to Greeting Cards, Ladies Tops, Coffee Mugs and more!
